The Langham Hotel, London
The Langham Hotel, London site visit date 22nd July 2022
What a joy … a Ballroom in Central London (max x 275 theatre style) not just with natural daylight flooding in down one entire side of the room but with direct access to an absolute gem of a beautiful, private courtyard garden (max x 200 standing reception).
And there is a tonne of other things to like too!
The Langham London and I share a birthday … birth day, definitely not birth year!!! The first “Grande” hotel in Europe first opened its doors on the 10th June, 1865.
Located on Portland Place, Regent Street, the hotel is both centrally located, close to the hustle and bustle of London, within walking distance of major attractions, Regent Street shopping, theatre land, with all the goodness and opportunities that brings, but is also located in a quiet neighbourhood.
The Langham is also an environmentally conscious hotel, a must in these times and more readily requested by clients particularly of larger events when sustainability credentials are frequently requested.
Gym and pool, fitness and wellness
The hotel has an amazing pool, a full 16m in length for you to enjoy a decent swim in, what was previously, bank vaults, you’ll be quite safe!!!!
There is a complete array of fitness and wellness facilities. A spa, the pool I’ve already mentioned and a full fitness studio with state-of-the-art equipment, cardiovascular machines, and a range of free weights.
Whether you have some light or full-on exercise in mind or are more inclined to relax and rejuvenate there’s plenty to enjoy with bespoke juice bars available too.

A bit of palm court history
Afternoon Tea was first thought up by Lady Bedford, one of Queen Victoria's ladies in waiting and it soon became fashionable in high society. But it was The Langham who popularised this tradition by being the first hotel to feature this new meal on its menu when it opened in 1865.
The original menu is on the back of the hotel's current menu.
The Pam Court is open for breakfast, lunch afternoon tea and dinner. Maximum x 100 covers.

Meeting Spaces
The meeting space is amazing, the hotel has the ability and facilities to tick so many boxes.
The hotel has their large Ballroom with courtyard garden, referred to in the opening to this write up, but, thanks to the layout of the hotel, you could equally feel very looked after in the hotel’s many smaller meeting spaces.
Enter the hotel and turn right, this is where the majority of the hotel’s smaller meeting rooms are situated. Located not too far from the main Ballroom to be used as syndicate rooms, but equally in a quiet enough area of the hotel for you not to feel like an aside.
On the first floor (above the Business Centre) you have the Fitzrovia (6) and Soho (7), the Fitzrovia divides into two separate rooms (not referenced below).
On the lower ground floor you have the seven additional meeting rooms of varying sizes : Victoria (8), Brougham (9), Barouche (10), Stanhope (11), Surrey (12), Clarence (13) and Phaeton (14).
On the ground floor you have the Mayfair (1), Marylebone I and II (2), the Portland Foyer (3), Grand Ballroom (4), the Courtyard and the Postilion (5).
